Ring of Keys gave me a platform to be seen by some of the most influential leaders in my field. I was shifting between nebulous freelance gigs when they invited me to speak on a panel which helped propel me into my dream job. As the first openly trans man at the Telsey Casting office, I’ve been able to work on projects like A Transparent Musical and The Christine Jorgensen Show, and advocate for artists from historically underrepresented communities. Not only has this job made it possible for me to afford gender confirmation healthcare services, but as a full-time casting professional I am able to continue the cycle of advocacy that Ring of Keys started and support other artists from behind the table.
