My Story
Lizzie Hagstedt is an actor/singer/musician/composer from Sayville, NY (where the Fire Island Ferry is). She graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Music in Musical Theatre and shortly thereafter hit the road with the national tour of the John Doyle production of Sweeney Todd covering Mrs. Lovett, Pirelli, and the Beggar Woman and six instruments. Credits include several productions of the new musical Southern Comfort including in 2016 at the Public Theater, playing bass for the New Group production of Sweet Charity starring Sutton Foster, and singing lead vocals and playing the accordion in The Tempest at Roundhouse Theatre directed by Aaron Posner and Teller utilizing the music of Tom Waits as arranged by Shaina Taub with movement by Pilobolus. She is a composer in the BMI Workshop and is currently working on several new musicals. She was a 2021 Jonathan Larson Award finalist and the recipient of a Cross Arts Collaborative residency at the Hermitage Artist's Retreat. Current projects include: Hereville with Robby Sandler (concert readings in summer 2023 at the Old Globe and New Village Arts as part of the Lipinsky Family San Diego Jewish Arts Festival and on November 9th, 2023, at the Center for Jewish History); Zitkala-Sa's Wild West with Lisa Helmi Johanson (winner Muriel O'Neil American Heritage Commission through Asolo Repertory Theatre, New Musicals Lab 2024); and Sophie Blanchard's High-Flyin' Rock'n'Roll Extravaganza (2024 Moxie Arts NYC Incubator) which had a workshop production in August of 2024 which she also starred in.
